Republishing guidelines

As part of our vision of knowledge leadership for a better world, we encourage you to republish our news articles online or in print under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives (CC BY-NC-ND) 4.0 licence.

How to republish

We ask that you follow the simple guidelines below when republishing UQ News articles.

When republishing our content, you must:

  • ensure our authors are properly credited. Include their name(s) in the byline whenever republishing our content.
  • credit UQ and include a link back to our website or the specific article itself.
  • ensure you hold the necessary licences to use any images included. Some images (particularly those from commercial sources) may require permission or payment to reuse. Copyright information is generally included in the image caption or attribution. You may republish the article without images, or replace our images with your own visuals. Charts and interactive elements follow the same copyright guidelines.
  • not edit our content, other than to reflect relative differences in date or location. For more substantial edits, contact our Media and Content team to discuss.
  • not sell our articles or use them in any way that suggests endorsement of a third-party product or service.

The wholesale republication of our entire website is not permitted, nor is the framing of our site.

Publishing excerpts and quotes

You may publish excerpts from our articles with a link back to the original article. In these cases, use the first few lines or paragraphs to introduce the topic, followed by a call to action directing readers to 'read the full article on the UQ News website'.

Feel free to incorporate quotes from our articles into your work with attribution, as long as they are not used out of context. Please ensure you provide readers with a link to the original article on the UQ News website.

The analytics code included in our article only collects data about users that is in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
