A University of Queensland student will cut off her ponytail and shave her head to raise awareness and money for research into autoimmune disease.
Jennifer Stables is a third-year UQ School of Biomedical Sciences student living with a rare autoimmune disorder.
“Doctors have been struggling to treat my disorder this year,” Ms Stables said.
“One of the medications is causing me to slowly lose my hair, so I have decided to donate my ponytail to make wigs for people who lose their hair and then get people to sponsor me to shave off the rest.”
