The new University of Queensland St Lucia CityCat ferry terminal will open on Monday 25 May.

Brisbane City Council has advised that the existing terminal will close on Monday and all CityCat services to and from UQ St Lucia will operate from the new terminal (Sir William Macgregor Drive, adjacent to the UQ Lakes bus station).

The new terminal is 450m upstream of the existing terminal, near the Eleanor Schonell Bridge.

The terminal is designed to be flood-resilient, provides improved accessibility and includes seating for passengers.

Brisbane City Council will install temporary signs with directions to the new terminal.

Weekday timetable

  • Downstream CityCats (towards the CBD and Northshore Hamilton) depart UQ St Lucia every 15 minutes between 7.24am and 6.24pm and half-hourly at other times.
  • Upstream CityCats terminate at UQ St Lucia every 15 minutes between 7.49am and 6.49pm and half-hourly at other times.

Weekend and public holiday timetable

  • Downstream CityCats depart UQ St Lucia every 15 minutes between 10.24am and 5.24pm and half-hourly at other times.
  • Upstream CityCats terminate at UQ St Lucia every 15 minutes between 10.19am and 5.19pm and half-hourly at other times.

The original UQ CityCat terminal was damaged in the 2011 floods and a temporary terminal was installed near the UQ pool to re-establish services quickly.

More information about the terminal upgrade is available at the project website here, with timetable and journey planning information at translink.com.au, phone 13 12 30.
