Some UQ places available for second semester

8 April 1998

The University of Queensland will offer a limited number of places in the mid-year offer round.

Academic Registrar Neville Lamb said some places were available in the following bachelors courses: arts, business (management), commerce, economics, social science, business (agribusiness), business (general), (hospitality management), business (tourism management), business (travel management), business (property studies), applied science (crops and rangelands), applied science (environmental and production horticulture), applied science (environmental tourism) and applied science (protected area management).

Mr Lamb said the mid-year intake was designed to provide flexibility and to address student needs. The intake could take into account special circumstances of students, such as disadvantage through being forced to wait for admission until next year.

It also allowed some limited internal transfer between courses where places were available.

Application forms will be available from the third week of April from the Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre, from the University of Queensland, St Lucia and Gatton campuses, or at Brisbane Customs House.

Closing date is May 22, 1998 with offers to be made on June 17, 1998.
