Parents invited to Gatton campus preview day

Parents of students attending the University of Queensland's Gatton College this year are invited to a Parents' Day at the College on Sunday, February 14.

This is the first time the Gatton campus has hosted a Parents' Day, a popular annual event at the University's St Lucia campus.

University Dean of Students Dr Lisa Gaffney said Parents' Day was an opportunity for parents to see what went on at the University.
Activities at Gatton College will include a complimentary barbecue lunch at the campus swimming pool at 11.30am, campus tours and an official welcome at 1pm in the College gymnasium.

Speakers will be University Vice-Chancellor Professor John Hay, Gatton College Director Professor Craig Pearson and Student Association president Rowena Hackwood.

Parents' Day official activities will conclude with academic information sessions to provide parents with an insight into the courses offered at the Gatton campus as well as an opportunity to ask questions about courses in which students are enrolled.

The University of Queensland will also hold a Parents' Day at St Lucia campus on Sunday, February 14 and a Parents' Evening at the new Ipswich campus on Monday, February 15.
Parents or students seeking information about Parents' Day or Orientation week at Gatton College can telephone 0754 601 276 or 07 3365 7560.
