Minister to open pig science seminar

Queensland's Primary Industries Minister Henry Palaszczuk will open a Pig Science Seminar at the University of Queensland's Gatton College on Wednesday, September 29.

Sponsored by Darling Downs Bacon, the Queensland Pig Consultancy Group, the
Australasian Pig Institute and the Pig Research and Development Corporation, the conference will highlight pig research in Queensland.

Papers will cover areas such as the effects of sorghum ergot on the milk production of sows, the energy value for pigs from new mungbean and chick pea varieties and getting value out of piggery sludge disposal.

There will also be demonstrations and colourful poster displays.
