UQ students seek Ipswich accommodation

22 January 2001

About 500 new students from country Queensland, interstate and overseas will start studying at UQ Ipswich this year - and nearly half of them will be looking for somewhere secure and affordable to live.

Some will want full board in hostels or family homes, others will be seeking share or single rental units and houses. Most will want to live close to campus and/or public transport.

Accommodation vacancies can be advertised free on the Internet, on a database which is proving popular with out-of-town students about to make the move to Ipswich. The database is accessible on www.uq.edu.au/student-accommodation/

For more information or to advertise a vacancy, contact the University's accommodation officer, Ms Diana Cogill (telephone 3381 1704).
