Pain research seminar to be held at UQ

An international expert on pain will discuss the latest research in this area at a seminar at The University of Queensland this month.

Professor of Pain, Dan Carr from the New England Medical Centre in the US, will visit UQ`s School of Pharmacy on Friday, August 26th to discuss Evidence Based Pain Medicine: searching for elegance in an inelegant world.

Professor Carr is known internationally for his contributions to pain research.

He co-chaired and drafted major portions of the Agency for Health Care Policy and Research Clinical Practice Guidelines on Acute and Cancer Pain Management.

Professor Carr has played a lead role in developing pain treatment programs at Massachusetts General Hospital and the New England Medical Centre.

The seminar will take place from 1-2pm in the Steele Building, Room 3-309 at the St Lucia campus.

The lecture is part of the School of Pharmacy`s regular seminar program and all are welcome to attend.
