UQ students win accounting work experience placements
Nine UQ Business School students will take up paid accounting work experience placements through the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia CA Achiever program this summer.
Simon Grant, General Manager Queensland of The Institute said the CA Achiever program was designed to identify talented accounting students and support them with work experience and other opportunities.
“We have been very impressed with the high standard of applicants for the CA Achiever program this year,” Mr Grant said.
“The students benefit from paid work experience while the accounting firms get the opportunity to secure and develop new talent to help reduce the impact of the current skills shortage.”
The work experience placements are from two to eight weeks with Institute-accredited firms including Big Four, mid-tier public practice firms, and commerce organisations.
Grant said most of the students would take up the placements in the summer break.
The students who will take up the placements are:
Justin Lee of Chapel Hill
Ajay Ravi of Forest Lake
Robert Hilmer of Hamilton
Hannah Perkins of Kenmore
Neil Arora of Kuraby
Carly McMullan of Runcorn
Jay Wijeratne of Sinnamon Park
Nikki Howse of St Lucia
Thomas Li of Tingalpa
