UQ business students to hear from financial services innovator

9 May 2006

John Puttick, founder of GBST – a leading provider of IT solutions to the financial services sector – will address University of Queensland Business School students tomorrow.

Mr Puttick founded Star Systems in 1983 as a systems integration provider and played a significant role in establishing GBST as one of the leading providers of specialist market access and transaction processing solutions for the global financial services industry.

“The company is proud of its history and we are very pleased with the new phase GBST has entered as a publicly listed company on the Australian Stock Exchange,” Mr Puttick said.

“GBST’s suite of products can be found in many of Australia’s leading financial services providers along with some key global industry participants,” he said.

Hosted by the Business Students’ Postgraduate Association (BSPA) the event will be held on Wednesday, May 10 at 6.15pm at UQ’s Social Sciences Building.

BSPA Secretary Dhruv Khanna said the Association was delighted Mr Puttick had agreed to speak at the function.

“John Puttick is a great Brisbane success story and business students should get a lot out of his presentation," he said.
