21 January 2008

It’s not too late to enrol for postgraduate study at UQ.

Postgraduate coursework study applications for semester one are open until January 31.

UQ has a range of flexible study options in various fields through Graduate Certificates, Diplomas, Masters and Professional Doctorates, to help give you the edge in your job.

Some of the new and revamped offerings include:
Integrated Water Management (Grad Cert, Grad Dip, Masters): This program is provided through the International WaterCentre and gives students a valuable degree from the Centre’s four partner institutions— UQ, Monash University, University of Western Australia and Griifith University. It focuses on water resource management at local, national and international levels with an emphasis on developing countries.

Executive Education: UQ Business School offers a range of executive courses covering leadership, innovation, human capital to the not-for-profit sector. Industry and academic professionals deliver the intensive five-day format, helping participants lead with confidence and have maximum impact in their workplace.

Master of Animal Studies: Students from diverse backgrounds often take this course to work in a variety of animal fields such as wildlife and domestic animal management and companion animals. The Concepts in Animal Science course orientates students new to animal science to help take their first step in a new direction.

Master of Business Administration: UQ’s MBA has been overhauled with revised course content, structure and delivery. MBA students will have their own leadership assessment tool to track their development through the course. They will also participate in industry-run workshops during the year, under the Leadership Enhancement Program. Part-time applications are still open.

Research Commercialisation (Grad Cert): This program explores the fundamentals of commercialisation methods in the public and private sector, economic and social contributions and role of the University. Not just for PhD students.

Ergonomics (Grad Cert, Grad Dip, Masters): These programs, all offered online this year, ground students in ways of preventing injury, improving performance and reducing errors, risks and accidents in a range of different workplaces. Part-time study applications are still open.
