Top engineers from UQ

UQ staff and graduates feature prominently in the 2009 list of Australia’s 100 most influential engineers.

The list, published annually in the June edition of Engineers Australia, identifies the country’s leading engineers in academia/research, associations, consulting, engineering expertise, industry, public service and politics/other.

UQ Vice-Chancellor Professor Paul Greenfield has again been included in the list, along with a significant number of UQ graduates.

UQ alumni named in the list (alphabetically) include:
· Andrew Buckley, Managing Director of Cardno, Brisbane.
· Gordon Jardine, CEO of Powerlink Queensland, Brisbane.
· Andrew Liveris, President, CEO and Chairman, Dow Chemical Company, Michigan, US.
· Campbell Newman, Lord Mayor, Brisbane.
· Peter Taylor, Chief Executive, Engineers Australia, Canberra.
· Ross Taylor, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Tenix Group, Sydney.
· Des Whybird, Chairman of GHD, Brisbane.
· Bill Wild, Chief Operating Officer, Leighton Holdings, Sydney.
· Bruce Wilson, Commissioner and Chief Executive, Public Service Commission, Queensland Government, Brisbane
