Services to The University of Queensland have been improved as part of a $5 million service package for Brisbane buses.

TransLink is investing $1.2m of the $5m package on services directly linked to St Lucia.

The following changes will begin on Monday, July 26, 2010:

Route 109 (City to University of Queensland via Eleanor Schonell Bridge)
• three extra services from the city, departing at 7.30am, 8.30am and 9.35am (operating during UQ semesters only)
• nine extra services from UQ Lakes, departing at 4.10pm, 4.20pm, 4.40pm, 5.10pm, 5.20pm, 5.30pm, 5.40pm and 5.50pm

Route 209 (Carindale to University of Queensland via Eleanor Schonell Bridge)
• three extra services from UQ Lakes, departing at 3.58pm, 4.58pm and 5.58pm (operating UQ semesters only)

Route 428 (Chapel Hill to University of Queensland)
• extra services will operate during UQ semesters only:
o departing Indooroopilly Shoppingtown at 11.05am
o departing UQ Chancellor Place at 3.52pm and 4.05pm

Route 412 (St Lucia and University of Queensland to City via Toowong) will also be upgraded to create a new high frequency service:
• operating every 10 minutes inbound and outbound, Monday–Friday peak
• operating every 15 minutes inbound and outbound on weekdays off-peak, weekends and public holidays
• operating every 5 minutes outbound during morning peak, and inbound during afternoon peak (operating UQ semesters only).

The following outbound routes will divert via the Go Between Bridge during off-peak times, and no longer service the ‘Cribb Street’ stop on Coronation Drive, Milton:
• 425 (Chapel Hill to City)
• 430 (Fig Tree Pocket to City)
• 435 (Brookfield to City)
• 450 (Riverhills/Mt Ommaney to City)
• 453 (Mt Ommaney to City)
• 454 (Riverhills to City)
• 460 (Forest Lake to City).

Changes will also be made to the following routes:
• 66 (Woolloongabba to Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital)
• 100 (Forest Lake to City)
• 118 (Forest Lake to City)
• 130 (Parkinson to City)
• 140 (Browns Plains to City)
• 150 (Browns Plains to City)
• 156 (Stretton to City)
• 170 (Garden City via Newnham Road to City)
• P179 (Garden City to City pre-paid)
• 180 (Garden City to City)
• 199 (New Farm (Teneriffe Ferry) to City to West End)
• 200 (Carindale to City)
• 333 (Chermside to City)
• 345 (Aspley to City)
• 359 (Albany Creek to City)
• 385 (The Gap to City)
• 444 (Moggill to City).

In terms of operational efficiency rather than time tabling the 402 service to and from Toowong, this servicer will become a shuttle rather than a service back filled from other routes. This will ensure the reliability of the service.

There is a new 77 service operating from Chermside to Eight Mile Plains via the CLEM7 tunnel. This service stops in O’Keefe Street near the PA Hospital stop and provides a convenient connect with several services arriving via the Lakes Bus stop. This will assist commuters along the north-south corridor.

77 (Chermside to Eight Mile Plains)
• Minor timetable changes
• Extra stop at O'Keefe Street, Woolloongabba to service the Princess Alexandra Hospital
