Celebrate Singapore with a feast, stalls and a live broadcast

6 August 2014

Singapore’s National Day Parade will be live-streamed at the University of Queensland on 9 August in a celebration that will feature food, music and stalls.

The UQ Singapore Students' Society (UQSSS), the QUT Singapore Students' Association (QUTSSA) and the Overseas Singaporean Unit (OSU) are organising the Our People, Our Home event.

UQ Singapore Student Society President Thompson Wong said the event would showcase the Singaporean community.

“Our student stalls will feature fresh Singaporean favourites including Roti Prata, Ramly Burgers, Char Siew (Roasted Pork) Rice and White Chocolate Oreo truffles,” he said.

“The UQSSS is working hard to give guests great value for money and facilitate activities to help fellow Singaporeans and Australians in Brisbane to bond.”

Tickets include entry to the event, dinner, a drink, a National Day Parade fun pack, door gift and a lucky draw ticket with prizes including travel to Seoul, Tokyo, Hong Kong and Taipei.

Singapore Deputy Higher Commissioner Ms Lynette Long will be a guest at the event.

Tickets are available at booths next to STA Travel on UQ’s St Lucia Campus from 12-2pm on 4, 6 and 7 August.
