UQ academic elected to the US National Academy of Sciences

An academic from The University of Queensland has been elected to the US National Academy of Sciences for her significant achievements in social science research.
Director of the Life Course Centre, Professor Janeen Baxter has been recognised for her contributions to research on social disadvantage, family dynamics and gender inequality.
Professor Baxter is the only Australian academic to be elected to the Academy this year among 120 new members.
Scientists are elected to the US National Academy of Science by their peers, and it is considered one of the highest honours a scientist can receive.
