5 May 1998

The political economy of Chinese maritime trade and migration will be discussed at a free public lecture at the University of Queensland on Friday, May 8 at 4pm.

Professor Bin Wong of the University of California, Irvine, will offer preliminary perspectives on how Chinese overseas trade and migration fit within larger patterns of political and economic change in the Chinese empire and the Asian region.

The lecture will be held in Room 151, Steele Building, Staff House Road, St Lucia and followed by light refreshments.
