UQ students hold hi-tech interactive exhibition
Students from The University of Queensland’s Ipswich campus will show off the results of their innovation at the annual Interactive Exhibit 2004 to be held at the campus tomorrow (October 26).
The exhibit features individual and team projects by the students, spanning the three years of their degree and showing the progress of their skills and ability.
The projects shown include computer controlled cars with onboard video on an indoor race track, a different filing system for emails, and a mobile phone combination of Tamagochi and Digimon.
Program director Michael Docherty said exhibiting students had been studying the Information Environments Program at Ipswich.
“The program is dedicated to discover how people would like to interact with digital technology. The research, teaching and learning of the program explores design issues related to creating physical and virtual environments that support such interactions,” said Mr Docherty.
“Our second-year multimedia students will also show their interactive work, which engages the viewer with content from Contemporary Net/Print Cultures, Gender and Gaming or A Lonely Suburb Guide.”
The exhibit is open to public on Tuesday, October 26, between 10am and 2pm, in Building 1 at the Ipswich campus.
