UQ professor joins WHO advisory group on alcohol and drug use

UQ Professor Jason Ferris has been appointed to the World Health Organization’s (WHO) Technical Advisory Group on Alcohol and Drug Epidemiology (TAG-ADE). 

The group provides independent advice to the WHO on alcohol and drug use monitoring, and supports the development of tools used to report against global health targets. 

Dr Ferris leads UQ’s Global Substance Use and Mental Health Unit within the Centre for Health Services Research, bringing 25 years of experience in public health, behavioural science, and policy evaluation where his work has directly shaped policies in Australia and around the world.
