UQ Business School MBA ranks #1 in the world for work experience

Ranked 81 in the world by The Economist recently, UQ Business School’s MBA is also rated #1 for work experience and #4 for student quality.

Academic Dean and Head of School Professor Iain Watson said the two top 10 rankings from The Economist reflected the School’s commitment to creating an outstanding learning environment for students.

“We know how important the peer group is to a quality MBA," he said.

"Students expect to learn from each other, as well as from the lecturer or industry engagement via guest speakers and industry visits.

“When students have meaningful work experience they are much better equipped to participate in class and contribute equally to group assessment.

“Our average of 14 years work experience is driven by our belief that the MBA is a program for experienced professionals rather than an early-career choice or a direct transition from an undergraduate degree.”

UQ Business School also ranked in the top 50 worldwide for the percentage of graduates employed three months post graduation as well as ranking #56 for student rating of careers services.

Professor Watson said the Employment Services Manager Celia Yeo and Careers Services Officer Tim Burton were to be congratulated on the results.

“The Employment Services Unit has worked hard to support a range of new initiatives introduced by the School’s dedicated Careers Services Officer,” he said.

“It’s great to see those efforts clearly meeting the needs of students as reflected by these great results.”
