UQ ranked second nationally in AFR Best Universities Ranking
The University of Queensland (UQ) has ranked second nationally and placed among the top three for research in the Australian Financial Review (AFR) Best Universities Ranking, reaffirming its role in driving positive change and shaping a better future for Australians.
This recognition comes from a comprehensive evaluation of Australian universities across four key pillars including research, teaching, career impact and equity.
The ranking reflects UQ’s research excellence through innovation that address challenges in health, sustainability, and technology.
UQ continues to lead the nation in research commercialisation, working with industry and government to turn ideas into tangible solutions.
The University was also recognised for excellence in teaching, underpinned by 25 years as Australia’s most awarded institution for educators and a proven record of delivering high-quality learning experiences that prepare graduates to make a meaningful contribution to their industry.
This translates into strong career results, with UQ graduates highly sought after and the University ranked first in Queensland for graduate employment outcomes.
Through the Queensland Commitment, UQ is seeking to make education accessible for all Queenslanders, removing barriers through initiatives such as scholarships, regional partnerships, and pathway programs including the Young Achievers Program and InspireU.
These efforts align with the Universities Accord goal of increasing participation from underrepresented groups.
