UQ appoints Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation)

Professor Sue Harrison has been appointed as UQ’s Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation) (DVCR&I).  

Professor Harrison is an accomplished academic with 34-years in senior roles at UQ and the University of Cape Town where she has demonstrated her dedication to research discovery and translation.   

Since January 2024, Professor Harrison has been UQ’s Executive Dean of Engineering, Architecture and Information Technology (EAIT).  

As DVCR&I, Professor Harrison will lead strategies to enhance the University’s high-quality research and research training frameworks.   

She will lead the University’s commitment to expand strategic partnerships with industry and government to deliver outcomes that benefit communities, economy and the environment.   

Professor Harrison will take up the role on Monday 12 May 2025.
